Jazakum Allahu Khair to everyone who visits my blog. I apologize for abandoning it. Nothing much has been happening - drastically, alhamdulillah. I don't make the time to write on here but since I have been going to events and going out a bit, I figure, I might as well post about what has been happening.

On January 13th, Idle No More held a flash mob rally at West Edmonton Mall. Thousands of people gathered to support the cause. Walking from the ice rink to the Bay. Their were pow wow dancers and drummers doing their thing. Masha Allah, my sister and I met another native Muslimah from my mams reserve.

Round Dance

On January 26th, the Moroccan Society in Alberta finally hosted another event since summer. Alhamdulillah, it was lovely minus the musical entertainment. Their were a lot more people at the event than expected and everybody seemed to enjoy it, alhamdulillah. They added a bit of a fashion show(not included on itinerary) featuring Moroccan traditional wear.

Masha Allah, on February 9th, A couple of us Muslimahs and children gathered to welcome sister Janine's baby to the world. Alhamdulillah, we all enjoyed ourselves. We played some games, conversed, snacked, and Janine opened her and her baby's gifts.

Again, I apologize for being a poor blogger. There will be more events coming soon, in sha Allah. In sha Allah, next week, there will be two aqiqahs and a nikkah. And it is a long weekend for my sister so I'm gonna try stay in a hotel next weekend, in sha Allah.

Salam walaikum,

I haven't blogged in a while. No one reads this blog anyway. Not a lot has been happening. I haven't done anything for Eid either, just stay home but it's what Allah(s.w.t.) wanted so that's alright. I still have 8 days to fast so I hope to finish them soon insha Allah. I've never felt so eager in a while to get my learners, yes, learners since last year. Problem is, I need a ride to the place I take my test. I have bad skin and they're going to need to take a photo for id so I have been looking for the best thing that might help and I think I found it. I was looking at tea tree oil one day at a drug store and came across emu oil. I haven't heard of it before so I looked it up and I am willing to try it out, in sha Allah. It's basically emu oils from an emu which is a bird mostly found or originally found in Australia. A bit strange but excited to try it, in sha Allah. 

Also! I am not going to be purchasing from EastEssense.com in a while. I am very disappointed in the shipping. It was my fault to begin with but mainly shipping. I don't want to rant but I hope I get my package tomorrow. Super disappointed, that's all. 

My mam and my siblings as well as her husband left about an hour ago to Africa. I am going to miss them because they will be gone for quite a while. I hope Allah will protect them and I hope they have a safe travel. I haven't seen a lot of them of every moment I spent with them, I cherished. My siblings are going to be growing and they will all grow in their iman, in sha Allah. They are going to learn mainly about Islam and stay away from the western life so in sha Allah, they will get a lot out of they're experiencing. 

Anyway, that's a little update of what's happening right now.

Seasoned Meat and Vegetables & Oui, Ta Kool Meloui?!

I just wanted to share what I made for dinner last night. Humdulillah, I am a good cook, or so I think. But when it comes to meal ideas, I'm awful at that. Anyway, I had no idea what to make yesterday but I was aiming towards roasted with potatoes. This meal took 1.5 hours and includes all these delicious vegetables with italian seasoning. It was super delicious and husband approved!

I made melwi/meloui/melaoui today. A Moroccan bread that is usually eaten at breakfast and as an evening snack. I use to enjoy this each time I went to Morocco; I missed it so I looked for the recipe and made it for iftar. Recipe courtesy of Cooking With Alia!

Le baby and I have been enjoying some aircraft entertainment. A plane has been flying over our house the last two days. I didn't take a good picture because the plane stopped flying by not too long after the photo I took. I feel sooooo blessed and thankful, al 'humdulillah, I've been fasting most days and to begin with, I was thinking I was going to take some days off so I don't stop lactating. Allah does what he wills, al 'humdulillah and if you ask for what you want with sincerity, you may be granted it. All by ALLAH's will. Also, we had a young lady over who converted during Ramadan and masha ALLAH, she is native and 16 years old. Al'humdulillah, may ALLAH(s.w.t.) reward her in this life and in the next life, if ALLAH is willing. So she stayed over for 3 days and I have been talking to her since after her conversion, just trying to help a sister out. She went back to her cousins house today but I wish I had another day to help her with Islam. I gave her a djellaba as a gift, hope she wears it with pride!  I plan on making tomato sauce with eggs & baked potatoes, insha Allah. Not feeling like eating meat tonight. Yesterday's day trip and Iftar - Camrose & Wetaskiwin

Yesterday was such a lovely day. First we went to Camrose to get groceries - ended up buying a lot of clothing for the little one. After that, we came back home then were invited for iftar by my sister at the masjid, so we went.

I will begin with the beginning. So, we never go to Camrose; it's probably too far or we find that Wetaskiwin has all we need and it's closer. We stopped on the road to take some photos.

We didn't plan to buy a whole bunch of clothes for the baby but we couldn't help ourselves. I love Joe Fresh - I kind of fell out of love with Joe this time around, they didn't have that much of a good variety of clothes and everytime I think about Joe Fresh I think of how dumb they are to open in the states. The baby clothes are ok priced but sooo adorable. Ok prices as in not cheap/affordable. I know they have coupons occasionally but I didn't look!

I am a bit sad about the fact that my baby has about ten sleepers or less. The most exciting part of having a baby, for me, is the cute little sleepers. I only got him one because I have to return the other two sleepers for being too small. But I love my son being in those comfy sleepers. If anyone knows where they have tons of sleepers up to 2 or 3 years, please let me know. There's lots of cheap ones at Wal-mart but I think they only go up to 2 years but I need more options.

My sister was a doll. She cooked up some dishes and invited us to eat with herself and her husband at the masjid. We had baked pasta, soup and kefta. The food was delicious- a guy was invited last minute so we weren't too full but we enjoyed ourselves. We also prayed but I left early because baby was with us.

I hope everyone is having a good Ramadan. I have been meaning to write some posts after iftar and/or maghrib. I haven't been able to write because there's only 5 houIrs to use the laptop and le husband has been using my laptop time. I will try make this quick, I just want to do an update.

The first day of fasting was a success, al 'humdulillah. I had a lot to do around the house and can't seem to get everything done. I want to read as much of the Qu'ran as I can, insha ALLAH - there's always something. Le husband came home early from work for iftar, we ate harira, baklava, dates, the cookies I made, hot chocolate, eggs, the usual.  My sister showed me this amazing post from a site. It is a sermon by the prophet(sws). It tells you what is required from you during Ramadan and insha ALLAH, if you carry it on during the year. Masha ALLAH, it is so beautiful!

Another website post I came across is about sunnah actions while drinking water or in genereal. I heard that you shouldn't breathe into cups while drinking in Islam because of germs and bacteria and in general but for the sake of pleasing ALLAH(swt).

While I was making harira for the masjid, I accidentally had a sip of the liquid so I will have to fast again for my second day of fasting. Speaking of masjid, we went to the masjid for iftar last night. Al 'humdulillah, it was a good iftar. There was kefta, samosa, Pakistani rice, etc.. It was so delicious, al 'humdulillah. My baby wore his djellaba over-top his clothing. Tbarkallah, it was so cute and adorable. There was some yummy cake there that reminded me so much of the cake I use to eat in Morocco from a cafe called 'Moose Berger'. It had a buttery tasting icing and it looks like a normal cake but it is tasty and filling.

Today was a good fasting day, humdulillah. I was suuuper tired today but I got through fasting and read some of the Qu'ran. I am really wanting to buy some fenugreek so I can increase my milk supply but I haven't had the time to go out and buy it. I also need some multivitamins. I should pray to ALLAH(swt) to help me with that.. I hope it doesn't go low! All I'm doing right now is drinking water but not the 8 cups so I really need ALLAH's(swt) help.
